Engineered poultry lighting designed to extend laying season naturally -
without harsh on/off cycles, flicker stress, or complicated timers.
Laying hens are governed by day length. As days shorten, production naturally declines.
Many people try inexpensive LED bulbs and plug-in timers, but those often create harsh on/off cycles and inconsistent light schedules.
Stable light supports stable routines - and calmer birds.

The Alumi-Coop is not intended to house chickens through harsh prairie winters. An insulated coop is recommended in extreme cold.
In milder climates (many parts of BC), Alumi-Coops can be used through winter and supplemental lighting is strongly recommended for consistent laying as daylight shortens.
Shoulder seasons are another practical use case - when day length drops but conditions are still manageable.

The lighting unit can be moved into an insulated coop for winter use.
It can be mounted on a wall with two screws for a clean, secure install.
Practical note: extreme cold can be hard on tool batteries. In very low temperatures, batteries may need to be kept warmer (for example, bring them inside for charging and storage) to maintain performance.

Abrupt light changes and inconsistent schedules create unnecessary stress.
This system is designed to be gradual, predictable, and stable - like natural daylight rhythms.
